It's always wonderful waking up early to admire the Yerevan sunrise.
Yerevan is undoubtedly our home, but sometimes we need an outside perspective to truly appreciate how dear it is to us. The school play titled "A Piece of Love for My Yerevan", performed by young students, is just such an attempt—a heartfelt confession of love to the city where we have grown up, walked, dreamed, and fallen in love.
This vibrant and at times emotional musical uses the character of Natalie to inspre each of us to realize that being a “Yerevantsi” is not merely a word. Natalie, a young girl from Paris, arrives in Yerevan filled with baseless doubt, and her gaze becomes a mirror—reflecting not only the beauty and atmosphere of the city, but also the challenges we often overlook or stay silent about.
Yet the children do not complain. Instead, they promise to become engineers, architects, or mayors in order to shape their city’s future. Later, they come to understand that transforming Yerevan doesn’t necessarily require titles or professions. Sometimes, all it takes is a piece of love—and the city, as a living organism, begins to change on its own.
With this spirit of optimism and deep sense of responsibility, these young fourth-graders bid farewell to elementary school.
