Everyone dreams, but can everyone truly define the right and realistic dreams for themselves? And most importantly, at the core of our dreams, there must be a pursuit of goodness.
It was no coincidence that the educational and thoughtful performance by the little fourth graders was built around this profound idea by Saroyan:
"As long as you live, add nothing to the world’s disasters and sorrows. Instead, smile at the boundless joy and mystery of existence."
Standing at the threshold of graduating from primary school, these young students firmly believe that successful people begin their journey with a dream.
They believed it with all their hearts—and inspired their audience to believe as well—that dreams give birth to faith and a new strength to move forward and never give up.
The dream-filled stories brought to life on stage carried a universal spirit, deeply infused with the inspiration of Saroyan and Chaplin. These are the geniuses our young students admire and call on others to emulate.
And so, with a vibrant, music-filled performance bursting with emotion, titled “Towards a Dream,” the little Usum students bid farewell to their primary school years.
