Usum School hosted its traditional year-end ceremony, “Report Event 2026,” during which the major achievements of the 2025–2026 academic year, as well as the school’s educational, cultural, and extracurricular initiatives, were officially summarized.
The event opened with a humorous and creative stage performance by fifth-grade student Aram Nahapetyan, widely considered a legend of the school’s graduation ceremonies, and third-grade student Tigran Hovhannisyan. Their performance reflected the ideas of generational continuity, cooperation, and mutual understanding. Following the opening act, the school choir performed the school anthem, officially marking the beginning of the ceremony.
The opening speech was delivered by the school principal, S. Tamaryan, who emphasized the fundamental role of education in shaping modern society. In the address, the principal highlighted the core values prioritized by the school throughout the educational process: responsibility, honesty, humanity, patriotism, and respect for universal values.
Recognized as the school’s “most student-centered” event, the ceremony stood out as one of the few occasions where the entire stage belonged exclusively to students. Eight remarkably harmonious student hosts guided the audience through the event, presenting the educational, cultural, and developmental programs implemented throughout the academic year. It was noted that “Usum” School became a partner of the London Eye international educational center and joined the Hippo English Language Olympiad community as an organizing school.
The ceremony also summarized students’ participation in numerous educational and social initiatives, including the National Debate Championship, the YSU Economics School programs, the student conference titled “My Voice for a Safe and Secure School,” as well as several competitions and festivals.
Throughout their presentations, the hosts reflected on the 35 thematic events organized across the school’s three campuses during the academic year, more than 300 educational and cultural excursions, and the school’s active cooperation with educational and cultural institutions. Special attention was given to museum programs, theatrical performances, masterclasses, and various educational projects.
Particular emphasis was placed on student self-governance activities. The initiatives organized by the Student Council included educational, cultural, social, and intellectual programs aimed at encouraging active student participation and fostering a responsible and initiative-driven generation.
For the first time, teachers were also honored within the “Most Usum-like” nominations. Through a closed student vote, the kindest, strictest, most innovative, most patient, most inspiring, and most positive teachers of the year were selected. Certificates of appreciation were additionally awarded to teachers supporting the Student Council and to individuals actively involved in school initiatives throughout the year.
The artistic section of the ceremony featured five musical and dance performances, including the song “Mother,” performed by the school choir and specially prepared for “Report Event 2026.”
One of the most significant moments of the event was the recognition and awarding of student achievements. Winners of school, regional, and national subject Olympiads, as well as students distinguished in scientific, creative, and sports competitions, received awards and certificates.
Special honors and certificates were also presented to gold medal graduates, Student Council President Sara Martirosyan and Vice President Anna Galstyan, who were awarded the title of “Honorable Usum Student,” as well as to teachers who made significant contributions to the educational process.
The ceremony concluded with a reprise of the school anthem and the performance of the traditional Sasna Kochari dance by the 12th-grade students, symbolizing the preservation of national values, the continuity of generations, and unity.
“Report Event 2026” became not only a summary of the academic year, but also another important testament to the school’s educational mission, established value system, and united community.
