Usum School Students at the All-Armenian Academy of Law

The Pan-Armenian Academy of Law hosted young students from the Usum School. The main purpose of the visit was to introduce schoolchildren to the field of law, to foster legal awareness, and to emphasize the importance of becoming active and responsible citizens. As an organization engaged in public and educational activities, the Academy has declared its mission to be the implementation of educational programs for children, the preparation of a legally aware generation, cooperation with governmental and legal institutions, and the promotion of public awareness.

The Academy identifies children aged 6 to 13 as the target audience of its educational programs. Representatives of the Academy explain this choice by noting that this is the age when children begin to demonstrate tendencies toward independence and self-reliance, attempt to justify their opinions, and move beyond simply asserting views without reasoning. Another key focus of the Academy’s educational programs is strengthening children’s resilience, enabling them to distinguish between humor and mockery within their social environment.

Returning to the meeting itself, it should be noted that it took place in a warm and positive atmosphere, accompanied by engaging questions, discussions, keen curiosity, and age-appropriate yet important discoveries about justice.

The students had the opportunity to engage in direct interaction with representatives of various fields. An important part of the program was the lecture delivered by lawyer Tigran Sargsyan, during which the students became familiar with the fundamental principles of law, learned how to defend their own opinions, listen to others, and resolve disputes in a peaceful and rational manner.

One of the most anticipated moments of the visit was the students’ meeting with renowned composer Ara Gevorgyan. The meeting turned into an inspiring conversation about art, creative thinking, and the role of culture, which are essential components in the process of shaping both the individual and society.

At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of the Pan-Armenian Academy of Law expressed their gratitude to the school for its support of the initiative, as well as to the students for their active participation, interest, and sincere enthusiasm.

Reflecting on the visit, Deputy Principal A. Smbatyan noted that the meeting was truly educational and memorable. She emphasized that although certain legal terms may have seemed complex to the students at present and required explanation in accessible language, the lasting nature of impressions at this age will allow them, in the future, to easily connect those terms with the examples presented during the meeting once they acquire the necessary terminological knowledge. A. Smbatyan also highlighted the meeting with the renowned composer as one of the most touching and memorable parts of the visit.
