As part of the symbolic events dedicated to Teacher’s Day on October 5, the “Koreez 2025” intellectual competition took place. Koreez is an educational platform designed for teachers and students across Armenia, offering them the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills through subject-based and mathematical tournaments.
Founded in 2020 by the team behind the Dasaran Educational Program, which has over 15 years of experience implementing successful educational projects, Koreez leverages its accumulated expertise and innovative, gamified learning approaches to deliver engaging educational experiences. For the fifth consecutive year, the platform has concluded its series of competitions with a grand award ceremony and concert celebrating academic achievement and joyful learning.
The mission of Koreez is to create the most joyful educational event of the year, bringing together students from various schools and age groups across Armenia. For the third year in a row, Usum School has proudly taken part in this vibrant initiative. The competition allows participants not only to challenge themselves academically but also to become part of a positive and inspiring learning community, with opportunities to win valuable prizes. The engaging question sets are designed by top subject experts and are fully aligned with the national school curriculum for each grade level.
On a broader level, Koreez aims to identify and encourage the intellectual potential of students and schools across multiple disciplines, while fostering continuous learning and motivation among teachers and students alike.
We are proud to share that this year, Usum School students once again stood out in this intellectual challenge. Vane Melikjanyan, a third-grade student, achieved the most impressive result among all participating Usum students, becoming the winner of the third-grade mathematical competition (teacher: H. Nazaryan).
During the grand award ceremony at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, Vane was joined by Usum’s founding principal H. Navasardyan, school principal S. Tamaryan, teacher H. Nazaryan, and other students who received participation certificates and special awards.
In an interview with usumschool.am, the winner’s teacher, Hasmik Nazaryan, emphasized that students’ participation in competitions is a truly valuable experience in terms of fostering a spirit of healthy competition. She also highlighted that such contests are important from the perspective of learning outcomes, which aligns with the goals of modern educational reforms. “It is very important when a student realizes that what they have learned can already lead to tangible results, even at this young age,” concluded H. Nazaryan.
