April 6th on the UN calendar is not a random day. The world celebrates World Sports Day, which aims to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. The idea of celebrating World Sports Day or International Physical Activity Day originated in 1982, when the UN General Assembly adopted a decision to establish this day as an international event and to start promoting healthy living.
But have we ever asked ourselves why our subconscious encourages us to love physical education classes at school? Yes, even though we eat unhealthily or don't get enough sleep, our body, from a young age, urges us to take care of it, especially through physical education classes. And it’s not at all accidental that today, engaging in sports is not only necessary but also fashionable.
In our school, physical education classes solve several problems. By ensuring high physical activity for students, physical education supports brain function, improves concentration, and enhances memory. Physical education helps reduce stress, negative emotions, and anxiety. It provides energy and positive feelings, having a positive impact on mental health.
Physical education encourages children to push against their limits, overcome difficulties, and boosts their self-esteem. Success in sports, even small victories, increases confidence in one’s own abilities, and with this confidence, the student returns to the classroom, driving the formation of new knowledge and skills.
